Singing in the Shower

Silas takes baths, not showers. Tonight, though, he was covered in sand from the playground at school. Literally, sand was embedded in his hair, so Tracy forced him to get in the shower. I went into the bathroom to brush my teeth after he had reluctantly gotten into the shower. Silas had no idea I was in the bathroom with him. This is the song I heard as I was brushing my teeth:

I love Mommy,
She is so soft and snuggly,
She likes to read bedtime stories,
And hold me.

The song went on with other accolades all about me. I recently read a mom’s blog about having young children and how difficult it is on most days. She also writes about how this is the time when your children love you the most. It’s so true and that song in the shower is a reminder of how innocent and true and perfect this age is.
