Davis has decided that he would rather sleep on our couch at night than in his bed. It doesn’t matter to us as long as he’s not sleeping in our bed so we allow him to make himself cozy on the couch. The other night, it was nearly time to go to bed, so Tracy told Davis to go get on the couch and straighten out his blanket. He spent a good ten minutes straightening and restraightening his little blue blanket. When he had gotten it positioned just like he wanted it, he declared, “It’s perfect!” Not long afterwards, he laid down on his blanket and went to sleep. At some point in the wee hours of the morning, he woke up so I went to lay down with him on the couch. As he drifted back into that place of sleepiness, with his eyes closed, he whispered, “Mommy, is my blanket still perfect?”
