I have been thinking a lot lately about how selfish we are as Americans, how if we lived or even spent an extended amount of time in a third world country, we would have such a different view of life. I think we have so many luxuries just because God blessed us to be born here. But, somehow we don’t appreciate much of anything. All we want is more, more, more. I think our over abundance probably makes all of us view God as this Santa Claus figure…bless me with more, make me more prosperous, etc., etc., etc… I think about certain very famous evangelists/pastors who right books about prosperity and how God wants to bless us beyond our wildest imaginations and I wonder if we’ve got it all wrong. I think lots of times, people view being prosperous as having more money than they conceive what to do with. But, I would imagine God’s idea of prosperity is completely different. I wonder if we would feel prosperous if we all had dreams and visions or if we prayed for the sick and they got healed or if we preached to the masses and those who heard came to know Christ. Just a thought…
