Luz You Mommy

When I got home at lunchtime, I was greeted by Davis, jumping up and down, up and down, and wrapping his arms around my knees giving me a hug. Later it was time to cut out paper hearts. He retrieved the kid scissors from the junk drawer and repeated, “Paper hearts, Paper hearts.” Tonight when I put him to bed, he wanted pray. We prayed for friends, for family, and for Davis to be blessed. I whispered, “I love you,” before turning and walking out of his bedroom. After closing the door, I heard, “Luz you Mommy, luz you mommy, luz you mommy,” countless times until finally he drifted off to sleep. About as perfect a day as I could ask for.
